DYCP diary

I was thrilled to hear that I am being awared the Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant. I appled for the grant to support me to explore a shift in my creative practice, with an emphasis on field recording and composing using an integration of recorded sounds and acoustic instruments. It is my hope that it will improve and develop my digital music production skills, composition skills, and also support me to depen and develop my reflective creative practice. This is something I have always found a challenge, with an emphasis on skill and technique development in music education, and the (welcome) intrusions of performing and touring, or external work to supplement a precarious freelance income. Being able to ringfence time to explore and reflect is a uniquely precious opportunity.

I’m planning to keep a rough diary of my exploratons over the course of the year here. Mainly to provide myself with some accountability. I’d also be really grateful for any interaction from anyone interested in this field. I’m just starting out in a new land and I’d welcome new friends and accomplaces!
